The best auto body repair is the one that fixes your particular damage with the right method, and puts the plan in writing before any work starts. Most people search for this after a parking mistake or a hailstorm, when the car is already in the driveway and every shop promises the same result.
The shop name matters less than you would expect. The damage decides the method, and the method decides the price and the time. This guide starts with the damage, then the method, then what a quote should say. The prices are DentGuy's own, from our Al Quoz workshop, so you can set them against the quotes you collect.
Which body repair method fits your damage?
Start by looking at the paint, not the dent. The method changes with what the metal and the paint have done.
Dent with intact paint: paintless dent removal (PDR) pushes the metal back from behind the panel. Nothing is sanded or painted, so there is no colour to match. A small door ding usually costs AED 250 to 350, and a medium dent AED 350 to 500. Read more in our paintless dent removal guide.
Cracked paint or a sharp crease: the panel needs filler, primer, a colour-matched basecoat and clearcoat, then a cure. A respray on a sedan panel runs AED 400 to 550 at our workshop. The full cost picture is in our body repair costs guide.
Scratch through the clearcoat: a spot repair blended into the surrounding paint usually does the job. Pricing by scratch depth is in our scratch repair costs guide.
Does the shop name matter more than the method?
A good name does not tell you which method a workshop is strong at. A shop can be excellent at PDR and still send colour-matched resprays elsewhere, or the reverse. Ask which method they would use on your panel and why. A clear answer that fits your damage is a better sign than a long list of claims.
Ask who will do the work, too. If the job is passed on to someone you have not met, the quote and the finish are harder to check. Ask for the name of the technician who will touch your car.
What should a body repair quote say?
A useful quote names the method for each panel, not one price for the whole car. It lists parts and labour separately, states what is not included, and says what happens if the technician finds more damage once the panel is open.
On a newer car, paint is usually matched with a spectrophotometer reading rather than the paint code alone. Ask whether the quote includes that step. Metallic and pearl colours are where a mismatch shows up first.
If the repair changes the colour, check the registration rules with the RTA before you book. A respray is permanent, so the registration card has to match the new colour.

WhatsApp for a QuoteDoes the Dubai climate change the choice?
Yes, mostly in the paint. Dubai's sun and heat put a lot of stress on fresh paint, so the cure matters as much as the colour. The UAE's national weather centre rates UV exposure as very high for much of the year, and a respray that is not cured under controlled conditions can haze early.
For a car that lives in the sun, a PDR repair on intact paint is the lowest-risk option, because it adds no new paint that has to cure. Ask any shop where its paint is cured and how long the panel stays in the booth.
Start with the damage, then the shop
Put the damage first. Write down which panels are hit, whether the paint is broken, and whether the metal is creased. Match that to a method, and only then compare shops on the quote they give for that method.
Once you have two or three written quotes, use our shop checklist to compare the workshop, the paint process and the aftercare. Bring photos of the damage taken in daylight, and your registration card if the colour will change.
If you would rather talk it through, send us photos on WhatsApp. We will tell you which method the damage needs and what it would cost at our workshop in Al Quoz.
