Car Painting

OEM-grade panel resprays and full colour changes using PPG and BASF Glasurit basecoats in a downdraft spray booth. Computerised colour matching to your VIN.

Car Painting in Dubai

Car painting at DentGuy covers everything from a single damaged panel respray to a complete colour change across the entire vehicle. We use PPG and BASF Glasurit basecoat systems, the same paint brands supplied to Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, and Audi production lines. This is not generic automotive paint. These are the specific formulas designed to match the colour, metallic flake density, and pearl characteristics of your car's factory finish.

Every paint job starts with computerised colour matching. We read your VIN and paint code from the door jamb or boot lid sticker, then mix the formula using a spectrophotometer that measures the actual colour of your existing paintwork. Cars exposed to Dubai's UV radiation shift in colour over time, so matching to the original code alone is not enough. Our system accounts for this fade, producing a formula that matches your car as it looks today, not as it looked on the factory floor.

All spraying happens inside our downdraft spray booth. This is a sealed, temperature-controlled environment where filtered air flows from ceiling to floor, carrying dust and overspray downward and out through floor grates. The result is a contamination-free environment that prevents dust nibs, orange peel, and fisheye defects. Without a downdraft booth, these problems are almost impossible to avoid, especially in Dubai's dusty climate.

After the basecoat and clearcoat are applied, each panel goes through a 48-hour cure at controlled temperature. Rushing the cure leads to solvent pop (tiny bubbles in the clearcoat) and premature peeling. Once fully cured, we wet-sand the clearcoat with 2000 and 3000-grit paper, then machine-polish to a mirror finish. This extra step is what separates a professional respray from a body-shop paint job. The surface should look and feel identical to factory paint, with no orange peel texture and no visible transition between old and new panels.

We paint an average of 15 panels daily across sedans, SUVs, and performance cars. Single panel resprays include blending into adjacent panels at no extra charge. This blending step is critical on metallic and pearl finishes where even a perfect colour match can show a visible edge between old and new paint under direct sunlight. Full car resprays start from AED 2,500 for solid colours, with matte, satin, and metallic finishes quoted individually based on the paint system and vehicle size.

For insurance claims, we provide itemised repair documentation including paint codes, material costs, labour hours, and completion photos. We work with all major UAE insurers including RSA, Oman Insurance, AXA, and Orient, and can process direct billing where your policy permits.

How Car Painting Works at DentGuy

1

Damage assessment and colour matching

We photograph the damage, read your VIN paint code, and use a spectrophotometer to match the exact colour of your existing paintwork, accounting for UV fade and ageing.

2

Panel preparation

Damaged areas are sanded, filled where necessary, and primed. Surrounding trim, badges, and rubber seals are masked or removed to prevent overspray. Adjacent panels are prepped for blending.

3

Basecoat application in spray booth

Multiple coats of VIN-matched basecoat are applied inside our downdraft spray booth. The booth's filtered airflow eliminates dust contamination during the critical wet-paint stage.

4

Clearcoat and 48-hour cure

Two coats of high-solid clearcoat seal and protect the basecoat. The panel cures for a full 48 hours at controlled temperature to prevent solvent pop and ensure maximum hardness.

5

Wet-sand, polish, and quality check

The cured clearcoat is wet-sanded with 2000 and 3000-grit paper, then machine-polished to remove any orange peel texture. Final inspection under LED lighting confirms a factory-smooth result.
