Car body repair in Dubai covers everything from a AED 250 door ding removed in an hour to a AED 8,000 full vehicle respray. The term is broad. It includes paintless dent removal (PDR), scratch repair, panel painting, bumper work, and full-body colour changes. The right method depends entirely on what type of damage your car has and whether the paint is intact.
This guide covers every type of car body repair we handle at our Al Quoz workshop, what each method costs, and how to figure out which one your car needs before you get a single quote.
Paintless Dent Removal: AED 250 to AED 800
PDR is the method of choice when your car has a dent but the paint is undamaged. A technician uses specialised steel rods and glue-pull tabs to reshape the metal from behind the panel without any filler, sanding, or repainting. The I-CAR PDR certification program sets the industry standard for technique, covering tool selection, metal memory, and quality verification.
Small door dings (2 to 4 cm): AED 250 to AED 350. Medium parking dents (4 to 8 cm): AED 350 to AED 500. Large shallow dents (over 8 cm): AED 500 to AED 800. Hail damage across multiple panels: AED 2,000 to AED 5,000 as a complete job.
PDR preserves your factory paint completely. This matters for lease returns and resale, where paint depth readings confirm whether panels have been repaired or repainted. A PDR repair is invisible to the gauge. A traditional repair is not. If your paint is intact, PDR is almost always the better option.

Scratch Repair: AED 150 to AED 800
Scratch repair depends on how deep the damage goes. Three categories, three methods, three price ranges.
Clear coat scratches sit in the transparent protective layer only. Run your fingernail across the mark. If it does not catch, it is a clear coat scratch. Repair method: machine polishing with cutting compound. Cost: AED 150 to AED 300 per panel. Same-day turnaround.
Paint scratches go through the clear coat to the colour layer. You can see a different colour underneath, usually primer grey. Repair method: spot paint with VIN-matched basecoat and clearcoat, blended into the surrounding panel. Cost: AED 300 to AED 500 for a single scratch. Turnaround: 1 to 2 working days.
Deep scratches down to bare metal need immediate attention. Dubai's coastal humidity causes bare metal to oxidise quickly. A scratch left for weeks can develop rust that spreads under adjacent paint. Repair method: full panel respray. Cost: AED 400 to AED 800 for a sedan panel.
We use BASF Glasurit waterborne paint systems for all scratch repairs, the same paint specification supplied to Mercedes-Benz and BMW factories. Colour matching uses a spectrophotometer reading your car's actual aged colour, not just the factory code.
Panel Respray and Full Repaints: AED 400 to AED 8,000
A panel respray covers one complete body panel. A full repaint covers every exterior surface on the vehicle. Both are done in a downdraft spray booth with temperature-controlled airflow to prevent dust contamination.
Single panel respray (sedan): AED 400 to AED 550. Single panel respray (SUV): AED 550 to AED 800. Full car respray, solid colour (sedan): AED 2,500 to AED 3,500. Full car respray, solid colour (SUV): AED 3,500 to AED 5,000. Colour change (sedan): AED 4,000 to AED 6,000. Colour change (SUV): AED 5,500 to AED 8,000.
Metallic and pearl finishes add AED 300 to AED 500 per panel because the flake orientation must be uniform and the additional colour layers interact with light in specific ways. Matte and satin clearcoats are available and add a similar premium because the surface preparation must be flawless.

Bumper Repair: AED 450 to AED 900
Bumpers take the most cosmetic damage in Dubai. Tight parking lots, reversing sensors that activate a fraction too late, and low concrete car stops all contribute. Most bumper damage falls into three categories.
Scuffs and surface scratches on plastic bumpers: AED 450 to AED 600. The plastic is heat-treated to restore the original surface texture, repainted, and clearcoated. Turnaround: 1 to 2 working days.
Cracks and splits: AED 550 to AED 800. The crack is welded from behind using a hot staple gun, filled with flexible filler on the painted surface, and fully refinished. A properly repaired crack is structurally sound and invisible.
Severe bumper damage where the plastic structure is distorted or chunks are missing requires a replacement bumper shell. Aftermarket bumper shells for common models (Camry, Corolla, Patrol) cost AED 300 to AED 700. OEM shells for European luxury cars cost significantly more. We source both and can advise on whether repair or replacement is more cost-effective for your specific vehicle.

How to Get an Accurate Quote in 30 Minutes
Send WhatsApp photos to +971 52 315 1530. Take one wide shot showing the full panel in context, two to three close-ups of the damage from different angles, and a photo of your car's paint code sticker (inside the driver's door jamb or under the bonnet for most models). If the paint is cracked or there is bare metal visible, photograph that specifically.
We respond with a fixed price within 30 minutes during working hours (Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM). The quote you receive via WhatsApp is the price you pay at collection. We do not add charges for blending, masking, or clearcoat that were not in the original estimate.
For damage that cannot be accurately assessed from photos, we will say so and ask you to bring the car in for a physical inspection. We never guess a price from insufficient information, because a wrong estimate creates problems at collection.
All work comes with a 12-month warranty covering peeling, colour mismatch, and premature fading. The UAE Insurance Authority requires that our documentation meets their claim submission standards, which we provide for every insurance-related repair.
Choosing the Right Repair Method
The single most important decision in any body repair job is whether to use PDR or traditional repair. PDR is faster, cheaper, and preserves your factory paint. Traditional repair handles damage that PDR cannot: creased metal, broken paint, deep dents, and collision damage.
For a complete guide to this decision including real cost comparisons and the specific situations where each method applies, read our PDR vs traditional dent repair comparison. For customers preparing a car for a lease return, where the goal is avoiding penalty charges at inspection, see our lease return preparation guide.
At DentGuy, we handle both PDR and traditional body repair. We do not have a financial incentive to recommend one over the other. We recommend whichever method gives you the best result for your specific damage.
